Dr. Lawrence Keller
Dr. Lawrence Keller achieved his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Virginia and he completed his residency training in Family Medicine at the Medical College of Virginia, Fairfax Program. He enjoys all aspects of family medicine from newborn to 101 years of age. He has served as a volunteer team physician for OCHS since 1983, team physician for Fluvanna County High School, medical director of Montpelier Hunt Races, and medical director for RHI (disaster relief). He is also an adviser to OCSS and Fluvanna County School system. He is recipient of the University of Virginia Outstanding Teacher Award and the VHSL Sports Medicine Award. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Gena, his children, and his grandchildren. Dr. Keller is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He joined Orange Family Physicians in 1983.
Dr. Nancy Schmitz
Dr. Nancy Schmitz graduated from Cornell University and received her medical degree from the University of Illinois. She moved to Virginia in 1980 for her residency training in Family Medicine at the University of Virginia. She joined Orange Family Physicians in 1989. Dr. Schmitz has a special interest in initiatives to improve the quality of medical care and has served as a medical director for Martha Jefferson and Sentara. She is Board Certified in Family Medicine and is certified by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to complete DOT/CDL physicals in Virginia.
Dr. Thomas Wolanski
Dr. Thomas Wolanski received his undergraduate degree from Randolph-Macon College and his medical degree from the University of Virginia. He completed his residency training in Family Medicine at St. Margaret Memorial Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He enjoys mountain biking and running. Dr. Wolanski is Board Certified in Family Medicine. Following his residency, he joined Orange Family Physicians in 1991.
Dr. Matthew Giese
Dr. Matthew Giese graduated from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania and received his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Virginia and then joined Orange Family Physicians in 2004. Dr. Giese is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He enjoys pediatrics, sports medicine, urgent care situations such as lacerations and orthopedic injuries, and generally caring for the whole family
Dr. Amy Cooley
Dr. Amy Cooley graduated from James Madison University and received her medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, West Virginia. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at University of Virginia. Following her residency she completed a fellowship in Family Medicine. Dr. Cooley is Board Certified in Family Medicine. She joined Orange Family Physicians in 2008. Dr. Cooley’s special interests include all aspects and variety of family medicine with emphasis on women’s and children’s preventative care.
Dr. Charles Groseclose
Dr. Chase Groseclose graduated from the University of Virginia in 2006 with a degree in History. He took seven years off before returning to medical school at the VCU School of Medicine (formerly MCV). He then completed his residency training in Family Medicine at the University of Virginia. He enjoys all aspects of Family Medicine including sports medicine, pediatrics, and continuity of care. He likes spending time with his family, playing golf, soccer, the outdoors, and UVA sports.
Dr. Ursulla Courtney
Born and raised in Orange County, VA, Dr. A. Ursulla Courtney received both her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Virginia. She also completed her residency in Family Medicine at UVA,& remained a practicing physician within the UVA Health System for close to 20 years. Dr. Courtney is Board Certified in Family Medicine & enjoys all aspects of caring for patients, but has a special interest in women’s health & underserved populations. Dr. Courtney is currently practicing primarily at our Madison location.
Dr. Andrea Tribastone
Dr. Andrea Tribastone joined Orange Family Physicians in April 2022. She is currently practicing primarily at our Madison location. Andrea Tribastone, MD is a native of Virginia. She grew up in northern VA, and then attended The College of William and Mary for her undergraduate studies. Following graduation, she attended UVA for medical school where she graduated with honors. She stayed at UVA for her residency in Family Medicine and then remained on faculty in the UVA Department of Family Medicine. In 2004 she transitioned from academic medicine to private practice, joining Forest Lakes Family Medicine where she practiced for 17 years. Dr Tribastone enjoys all aspects of family medicine, including pediatrics, women’s health, and procedures. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outdoors, reading, and running.
Kasey Talley, Family Nurse Practitioner
Kasey Talley, Family Nurse Practitioner, completed her Bachelors of Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and achieved her Bachelor’s of Nursing from Shenandoah University. Followed by her Masters of Science of Nursing from James Madison University. Kasey joined Orange Family Physicians in March 2017.
Meghan Courtney, Family Nurse Practitioner
Meghan Dowell, Family Nurse Practitioner, completed her Bachelors and Masters of Science of Nursing at James Madison University. Meghan joined Orange Family Physicians July 2019.
Fannie Utz, Family Nurse Practitioner-BC
Fannie Utz, Family Nurse Practitioner joined Orange Family Physicians in 2021. She is currently practicing primarily at our Madison location.

Dr. Michael Silvester
As of July 1, 2022, Dr. Silvester has permanently retired from our office but all of live he changes and years of service will never be forgotten. Dr. Michael Silvester is one of the founding doctors of OFP. Dr. Silvester received undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Virginia. He completed his Family Practice residency at St. Margaret Memorial Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He returned to Virginia in 1979, when he opened Orange Family Physicians. Dr. Silvester is Board Certified in Family Medicine and when practicing he enjoyed seeing patient of all ages with any problems.
